Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions is an intensive? An intensive consists of one 45-minute prep session and one 3-hour session done approximately a week later.

What happens in the prep session? During the 45-minute prep session, we go over your intake forms and talk about what the 3-hour intensive will entail. I will also go over items that might be helpful to have around during your intensive, as we will be doing somatic work.

What is somatic work- Somatic work is a holistic approach to healing that emphasizes the connection between the body and mind. It involves practices aimed at increasing bodily awareness, releasing stored tension, and fostering emotional resilience. By exploring physical sensations and movements, individuals can uncover underlying emotions and traumas, promoting a deeper understanding of themselves. This therapeutic method often incorporates techniques such as breath work, movement, and mindfulness, allowing participants to cultivate a more grounded presence. Somatic work empowers individuals to reconnect with their bodies, facilitating personal growth and enhancing overall well-being.

Do you take insurance? We do not accept any insurance. We are a private pay-only practice.

Why do you only do private pay and no insurance? Paying privately instead of using insurance can give you more flexibility and control over your care. Without insurance rules and limits, patients often get more personalized services, shorter wait times, and can choose sessions based on their needs.

Are your sessions done virtually or in person? All sessions are done virtually at this time. Our online sessions are designed to provide the same level of care and support as in-person meetings, allowing you to connect with a counselor through secure video conferencing.
